Three Major Announcements - SustainAbility Expands Globally, John Elkington Launches New Venture

From a symposium in Washington, DC, broadcast live on www.sustainability.com, leaders of the 21-year old global firm that has been synonymous with the field that it spawned and leads, are announcing major expansions in operations at SustainAbility.

Mark Lee, SustainAbility Chief Executive Officer, and the firm’s Founder and Chief Entrepreneur, John Elkington, will share the podium at the majestic Willard InterContinental Hotel to announce the following:

  • Mr. Elkington is launching a new initiative, Volans Ventures, to find, explore, advise on and build innovative scalable solutions to the great global divides that overshadow the future. As an ongoing and active member of the SustainAbility board of directors, he will continue to devote considerable time to the firm’s consulting and research activities.
  • SustainAbility is expanding its presence in India, in recognition of the rapidly expanding influence of emerging market companies and growing demand in the emerging economies for advice and counsel on sustainability practices.
  • The SustainAbility Foundation is being created in Washington, DC, to provide a more robust platform for critical, deep, and actionable research that can be widely used by corporations, activists, the media, and the policy community to drive step-change toward a more sustainable world.
